Bruce Springsteen

One Step Up, Two Steps Back

This project remains one of our most meaningful collaborations. Bruce Springsteen personally provided photographs from his own Asbury Park collection, while Dion provided additional stories, trusting us to shape them into a visual narrative for a special two‑disc release, led by Tom Cartwright, President at EMI Distribution through the label The Right Stuff Records.

The package included a 30‑page booklet and two CD music packaging built around performances by artists who recorded Bruce Springsteen’s songs with his permission. The project was created to support the nonprofit World Hunger, and small follow‑up components were later produced for companion editions.

It stands as a rare moment where design, legacy, and purpose came together.

“With gratitude to Tom Cartwright, founder of The Right Stuff Records, President of EMI Distribution — whose conception of the World Hunger project, authorship, and stewardship of our industry shaped both the work and Big Concepts.”
